Leading tier I automotive supplier is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work in their fast-paced, mass production manufacturing organization. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to a Senior Engineer and will be responsible for process engineering duties.  Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Process improvements, including scrap reductions and equipment efficiencies
  • Monitoring production numbers and eliminating any equipment downtime
  • Communicating with associates and support staff to improve production and decrease quality issues
  • Mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting of equipment in your assigned area
  • Training new associates on manufacturing processes
  • Project management of timelines
  • When needed, assisting with capital equipment projects in the assigned area
  • Design and modification of tooling, fixtures and jigs
  • Improving line and cell layout
  • Programming CNC equipment
  • Determining root cause analysis and assisting quality with problem resolution
  • Completing required paperwork as needed
  • Completing additional engineering tasks as assigned

This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 80% of their day.  Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, communicating with hourly staff to enhance production and being creative in the continuous improvement process.  The company does offer EXCELLENT medical benefits (including dental and vision), short-term and long-term disability, 401K (50% up to 6%), paid holidays and vacation, tuition reimbursement, life and wellness plan.  Medical benefits are available day one of employment.

REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing Engineer:
1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (ME, MET, Manufacturing Technologies, Industrial Technologies preferred); ideally with co-op or internship work experience in a similar manufacturing engineering role
2. 2D and/or 3D modeling
3. Basic project management
4. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Automotive supplier work experience
2. SolidWorks or Inventor
3. Machining
