A 35-year veteran of the logistics industry, Mike Monson leads the company with big-picture perspective, thorough understanding, and hands-on experience. He is intimately familiar with freight brokerage and management, truckload, LTL, logistics consulting, and strategic outsourcing. He has been called “The most experienced recruiter in non-asset-based logistics,” in the nation.
Mike began his career in transportation with CH Robinson, working for the top sales executive in the highest-producing office in the nation. His entrepreneurial spirit drove him to launch two successful brokerage companies before moving into talent acquisition full time. He has sold millions of dollars worth of freight and covered thousands of loads. He has the battles wounds to prove it.
He has also been recognized as an “Entrepreneur of the Year”, “Outstanding New Venture”, “Outstanding Business of the Year”, and a “Blue Chip Enterprise”. Mike’s areas of expertise include sales and compensation programs, innovative agent-recruitment techniques, training and staff-development processes, creative-lead sourcing, strategic talent acquisition and business development acceleration.

He established Top Talent as a business that is guided by Christian principles, and believes strongly in doing the right thing for clients, candidates and employees. When not busy helping clients find their ideal candidates or strategizing with a high-level executive on their next career move, Mike enjoys riding his motorcycle, restoring vintage items like old Coca-Cola machines and 1950s’ gas pumps, and attending auctions. He also takes great pleasure in participating in various volunteer activities through his church as well as spending time with family.
